Who We Are
My name is Justin Baker. I am the founder, trainer, and primary dog petter at Beyond Obedience Dog Training LLC. At its root, Beyond Obedience came about because a good friend encouraged me to get a hobby at the exact moment that we saw a guide dog training on the street. From there came volunteering with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a career change to professional dog training, and now, Beyond Obedience.
My training process is heavily influenced by my experience raising dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Most of the work that we put into the dogs for the first 18 months of their lives is geared towards two goals: excellent manners and impeccable socialization. Together, these address the needs of every dog owner, whether you have a brand new puppy or a dog with more serious challenges.
Hi! My name is Nicole McAdam. I’ve had a passion for animals since I was very young. I began working at Pet Rescue, NY, an animal shelter, in 2018, and have gained invaluable experience there working with dogs of all shapes and sizes. At Pet Rescue, I observed and learned about tons of dog behavior. I started Paws Up Pet Care, a dog walking company when shelters cleared out in 2020, providing me with more responsibility for pets, and even more experience working with dogs. After interning for most of a year with Beyond Obedience starting in July of 2020, I have learned how to train dogs (and their owners) to get great behavior and gained a more complete understanding of the behaviors that I experienced at Pet Rescue. I’m now “beyond” excited to work as a Staff Trainer for Beyond Obedience, to help families and their pets reach their training goals!
